Name: Cochran, Theodore J. (1944-)

Historical Note: Ted Cochran was born in Marietta, Georgia, in 1944. He graduated from Campbell High School in 1962 and was married shortly afterwards. Cochran served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 as an aircrewman, flying EC-121 airplanes. On returning from Vietnam, he enrolled at Kennesaw Junior College, graduating in 1972. Cochran joined the Cobb County Police Department in 1970, leaving in 1980 to start a private investigation company. He was hired as a police officer in the newly-created Kennesaw College Police Department in 1983. Mr. Cochran has been the Director of Public Safety since 1984, replacing the first Director, Fred C. Stilson.
