Name: Wicker, Wesley K.

Historical Note: Wesley K. Wicker received a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Alabama in 1979, a master's degree from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1988, and a doctorate from the University of Georgia's Institute of Higher Education in 1990. He served as the Assistant Director of Admissions from 1982 to 1984 and the first Director of Alumni Affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University from 1984 to 1988. In 1990 Wicker moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, to accept a position with the Funds for Leadership and Education, Inc. foundation, where he stayed until 1995. In 1997 Wicker moved back to the Atlanta area to become the Vice President of Major Gifts at the United Way. He remained there until 2002 when he was hired by President Betty Siegel to serve as the Vice President for Advancement at Kennesaw State University. Wesley Wicker retired from Kennesaw State University on October 31, 2011.
