Records Relating to Division of Global Affairs | Kennesaw State University Archives

The Division of Global Affairs is a multi-departmental organization that spearheads programs designed to connect Kennesaw State University students to the world, and vice versa.

The Division of Global Affairs is composed of two academic institutes, four academic centers, six university offices and a central administration office. DGA has nearly 200 employees, including 52 full-time faculty & staff, 68 part-time faculty & 72 affiliated faculty.

One of the ways the DGA connects KSU to the world is through education abroad programs, which give KSU students the opportunity to live and learn in foreign countries. Meanwhile, the International Student and Scholar Sevices offices works to bring international students and scholars to our campus. In both cases, visitors return home with a greater appreciation of the differences (and similarities) between their two cultures.

Through academic initiatives like the nationally-recognized “Year Of” country study program, students can discover new cultures without ever leaving the country. DGA’s University Faculty Committee on Global Engagement – comprised of representatives from each of KSU’s individual colleges – helps faculty integrate international issues into the classroom, and even leads to the creation of new courses. Other DGA units promote academic and social awareness of the African diaspora, English language skills for international students, and economic cooperation between India, China, and the United States.
